Partnerships

Building trust is our mission.

Finding trusted partners is difficult if you don’t know the right questions to ask. We have been on both sides of the table. Building partnerships that benefit both parties starts with understanding the history, mission, and goals of both. That’s what we do.

Why?

The economy, communities, and climate we leave our children and grandchildren will be the legacy of our generation.

How?

By working with all stakeholders to build a more inclusive economy, address social justice, and save the planet for future generations.

Got questions?

Here are a few of the questions we get asked most frequently.

How can I learn more about Stakeholder Capitalism?

Stakeholder Capitalism addresses the moral obligations among a new generation of business leaders and social entrepreneurs to balance purpose with profit, by giving priority to all stakeholders, including employees, consumers, investors, people, and the planet.

It is a  global economic movement that has an increasing number of employees, investors, and consumers demanding companies worldwide incorporate environmental, social and governance (ESG) policies into all aspects of their operations.

What is a purpose-led company?

A purpose-led company (purpose-driven company) engages all its stakeholders in shared and sustained value creation.

In creating such value, a company serves not only its shareholders, but all its stakeholders – employees, customers, suppliers, local communities and society at large.

How can I know if a company is "purpose-led"?

Purpose-driven businesses have something that is innate in their DNA, a differentiating factor which enables them to be identifiable and causes them to stand out from other types of businesses.

By looking closely at a business’ intention, business model, governance and operations, and measurements, you can ask yourself the following questions to identify whether a business is truly purpose-driven or whether they are simply using this as a feigned identity and marketing tool.

Why the name Goal 17?

The name Goal 17 was inspired by the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals.

Adopted by the United Nations in 2015 as the blueprint to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all, the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (“SDGs”) include ending poverty, fighting inequality, and addressing the urgency of climate change.

What is The Good List?

The Good List is our directory of purpose-led companies and nonprofits whose leaders, products & services we support.

What is Goal 17 Works?

Goal 17 Works is our nonprofit that was established to advise and support the mission of nonprofits committed to the common good.

What is a Certified B Corporation?

B Corp Certification is a designation that a business is meeting high standards of verified performance, accountability, and transparency on factors from employee benefits and charitable giving to supply chain practices and input materials.
